Lancashire scare company to bring a CarnEVIL of Horrors to Blackpool’s 2012 Showzam Festival
A leading UK scare attraction and entertainment company has been drafted in to put the fear factor into fun as part of Blackpool’s upcoming Showzam Festival.
AtmosFEAR! Entertainment Group, www.atmosfearuk.com based in Lancaster, will create CarnEVIL of Horrors, the festival’s first interactive walkthrough scare attraction, which will be located in the town’s Winter Gardens as part of the annual February half-term festivities.
Live scareactors, special effects, sights and smells will combine when the ‘spooktacular’ Victorian circus of oddities rolls into town on Feburary 14th and 15th 2012.
Creative director of AtmosFEAR! Entertainment Group, Jason Karl, said: “We are really excited to be part of Showzam in 2012, CarnEVIL of Horrors will delight and entertain guests with a mixture of quirky, odd and mysterious characters.”
Thrill-seekers will make their way through a twisted maze of disorienting passageways and rooms housing the CarnEVIL of Horrors, created by sinister showman, Valentino Diablo, and all is not what it seems.
For within the gothic splendour of the Baronial Hall the failed showman has lodged his sinister sideshow and scare-seekers will encounter a hoard of hungry horrors with a dark tale to tell including Flextra, the living snake, the creepy living doll Scarionette and his hellish puppetress Mortana Gaunt.
Other sinister characters include Madame Phantasma, the seer, Grudge, Zombo and The Amazing Mystero as well as nine foot killer clown Svenghastli and Diablo, the sinister, eccentric showman himself, or could he be the devil in disguise..?!!
Professor Vanessa Toulmin, curator and programmer of Showzam, said: “We are delighted to have the AtmosFEAR! team involved in Showzam 2012 and I have no doubt that the CarnEVIL of Horrors will be a winner.”
Mike Williams, operations director at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, said: “We are very pleased that AEG has agreed to put on the CarnEVIL of Horrors as this will offer a new and exciting element to this year’s Showzam which is something we are always keen to keep fresh and different year-on-year.”
CarnEVIL of Horrors is open Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th February 2012 between midday and 9.00pm, at The Winter Gardens, Baronial Hall, Blackpool, and is suitable for families and thrill seekers aged 10-plus. Entry is every 5 minutes and admission is £5 per person.
